For farmers & landowners

A fixed rent from a quiet corner of your farm. We do the rest.

We place up to five off-grid cabins on field edges, run them end to end, and pay you a fixed rent every quarter. No planning application, no change of use, minimal infrastructure, no capital from you — and you keep farming around them.

What makes a good site

You don't need your best land. The field corners, unproductive land and woodland you can't do much with are often ideal.

  • Peaceful and not overlooked
  • A view — natural scenery, open sky or woodland
  • Parking off a lane / track, with cabins within a 500m walk
  • An existing water supply we can tee off — a trough or field line is fine
  • Room to space cabins nicely apart, roughly 10m × 8m each

The cabins

We have designed and upgraded our cabins over the years based both on guest experience and operational ease.

Our cabins are mobile and on a steel trailer to be towed behind a tractor to off-grid spots up to 500m away from a parking point.

There is no planning, change of use or infrastructure required other than a simple waterline. They are powered by solar, heated by a wood fireplace and produce no sewage — Swedish compost loo. Guests can walk to the cabins with a trolley — it's part of the off-grid experience!

Sheep grazing in a field with a cabin in the distance

Case study

Cabins and sheep, sharing a field

The sheep still graze the whole field. Stock fencing keeps them away from the cabins and a fenced parking area keeps cars off the grazing. The farm runs exactly as it did before.

Guests love it. Seeing the animals is one of the things they mention most in reviews.

Questions landowners ask

Is the rent fixed, or does it depend on bookings?

Fixed. You're paid per cabin, every quarter, whether the cabins are full or empty.

Guests bring dogs — what about my livestock?

Cabin areas are stock-fenced, dogs stay on leads and guests are briefed in the welcome pack.

Will it affect my farm payments or tax?

The cabins take a small area and the rest of the field stays in agricultural use.

Do I pay for the water?

Yes, this is set out in the licence. Water is the only thing we require.

Will guests wander round my farm?

No. Guests get a marked route from parking to cabin and clear guidance on where they can and can't go.
